Am I really a witch? Depends on who you talk to. Heheheh. No, seriously, I am an earth-lover, but not a tree-hugger. I am, however, concerned with global warming and the abuse of the earth by humans. I use natural things, such as herbs and essential oils, but I also value medicine and science. I‘ve been known to “cast a spell” or two. I am a “water witch” - a douser. But because most of my magical work is done in the kitchen, I prefer to think of myself as a kitchen witch. My philosophy on “magic” is this: Today‘s magic is tomorrow‘s science.

Time of Day: Late at night, after the witching hour; and very early morning, just before the sun rises (although I‘m rarely awake at that time)
Holiday: Halloween - the fun stuff, not the “scary” stuff
Vehicle: Jeep TJ. I live in the mountains, what can I say?
Outfit: Jeans and a sweater
Band: The Eagles
Books: Clan of the Cave Bear, Shogun, The Hobbit, The Outlander series, The Handmaid’s Tale, anything by Nora Roberts/JD Robb.
Songs: Witchy Woman (The Eagles), Desperado (The Eagles), Hotel California (The Eagles), Singing Winds, Crying Beasts (Santana), Black Magic Woman (Santana), Year of the Cat (Al Stewart), Sandman (America), Horse With No Name (America), Sweet Home Alabama (Lynard Skynard), Knights In White Satin (Moody Blues), The Joker (Steve Miller Band), The Boxer (Simon and Garfunkle), Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon and Garfunkle), For The Good Times (Ray Price), Money (Pink Floyd), Stairway To Heaven (Led Zeppelin).
Saying: Perspective is everything - to a worm, digging in the ground is much more relaxing than fishing.
Likes & Dislikes
Dislikes: People who are arrogant, people who lie, people who “know everything”, and people who are pretentious.
Likes: People who are kind and compassionate, people with a good sense of humor, people who are honest, and people who are “real”. I also appreciate wit and intelligence.
Interests & Hobbies
Computers: I love to build them and use them. I love technology.
Digital photography: I use a Canon DSLR. I tend to photograph scenery and animals more than people, although I‘ve been known to drive my family crazy when I get the “shutter bug”.
Reading: Everything from romance to medical thrillers and a hundred other genres in between. I‘m picky about the quality of the writing, but flexible about the type of story I read.
Fly fishing: I‘m a catch-and-releaser, not a catch-and-killer. Nothing against those who eat the fish they catch.
Cooking: I love to cook. I never learned until I was married - and then I had to, out of necessity. It turned out to be one of my favourite things to do!
Picnics by the lake: With my husband, children and/or mother.
Family get-togethers: I love having the family over for dinners, barbecues and theme parties. I love to decorate, and I love to celebrate. Any excuse will do.
Oil painting: I love the smell of oil paints, and the act of creation, but I am hopelessly inept at getting what I see in my mind down on the canvas. Probably why I prefer photography.
Current events: I read Google News several times a day. Call it a left-over fetish from working as a reporter and editor in small-town newspapers.
TV and Movies: I add this only so I can say that I‘m not really into either. I could happily live without watching television or movies, although I‘ve been known to pop a bowl of popcorn and snuggle under a blanket with my honey to watch a good flick. I don‘t like violent movies, I hate horror movies (they give me nightmares), and I‘m not really into most “chick flicks”, either. I like well done dramas and anything that will make me laugh. Some of my favourite movies include Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, A Few Good Men, A River Runs Through It, Bridges of Madison County, Practical Magic, Cast Away, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, and Rain Man. Oh, and I LOVED the last Die Hard! I do have to admit to being a reluctant Star Trek fan. I know way more about Star Trek than I ever wanted to know… for that I can thank my husband and my son. It’s because I love them that I became a fan… it was do or die. And it was NOT a good day to die. Heheheh.
